Kubrick and Cupcakes by Songbird and Satisfaction.

Thanks to Cindy and Halle for the invite. Thanks to the folks at Get Satistfaction and Songbird for hosting. And, of course, the peeps at Terra.

This was my spare camera as my D200 is broken and I didn't realize I could have shot the Leica. Since my D70 L bracket is on loan, the flash was handheld which made AF, flash, nearly everything inconsistent.

Batch processed in DxO to give it a little Clockwork Red^H^H^HOrange. Some of the images posted are unprocessed.

The article by Marcel Salathé and his colleagues in the New England Journal of Medicine describes a new field of research known as digital epidemiology. This field is of increasing importance for tracking outbreaks of infectious diseases such as the one caused by a novel coronavirus, pictured here.

Body as Media

A few nice doing business as images I found:

I just uploaded the data from my BodyMedia FIT. I was very curious about my sleep patterns. What am I doing all night? Here you can see a good night, and a lunchtime game of Ultimate Frisbee.

The sensors (3-axis accelerometer, galvanic skin response, skin temp and heat flux) log about 100 datapoints/second to deduce a lot about your activity.

Ready to Fly? All you really need is just another shot...

A glimpse at what goes on inside the cockpit of a commercial plane. With auto pilot anything seems possible. After a few shots anyone can fly so long as you're a little high!
Check out this video for an interesting documentary on Marina Bay Sands project behind the scene. It's incredible!

pp: Just a montage of 3 images. Cockpit from stock while the drinks & aerial view from my archives. Just for fun and not meant to offend the pilots out there.
Thank you all for boarding and I hope you will enjoy the view. What drinks would you like to have my friends?

Best to view on BLACK

Moo Cards Have Arrived

I ordered some Moo cards. They arrived today. I'm pretty happy with them, except my user icon, the little Slice Dude, is pixelated. I thought I had uploaded a high-res version of it, but I guess something went wrong.

They're not unusable, just not as great as they could have been. [August 27]
