Did you know? The Mandarin Oriental Geneva was built and opened as the first 5 star grand hotel to constructed in Europe after the second world war! Also interesting enough - photography in the lobby area or floor areas ( public spaces is not allowed! But to my chagrin I did not know this! That's why this photographic works are so extemely rare! Another note to the hotel is the name thing! Why Mandarin Oriental has changed the name to not show the history of the hotel is one of the great mysteries to us! Hotel du Rhone was the famous name that the hotel has worn for over 50 years! Now its only one of many Mandarin Oriental Hotels in the World! No Problem for us, but the Hotel du Rhone name should have been preserved like, let's saty: The Mandarin Oriental Hotel du Rhone Geneva! Thanks!!!!! However the drinks and the ambience are very enjoyable! Photography should be allowed, because that's why you call yourself to be in the hospitality business! Geneva 2009 and the true meaning of understanding and real passion plus the guts to be an individualist!
