This photograph is from the Robert Hope collection.

Robert Hope was a resident of Newcastle upon Tyne. In the early 1970s he took out a bank loan to buy a Rolleiflex camera.

Over the next few years he photographed various Newcastle scenes, including the Grainger Market and the demolition of housing estates in the West End of the city.

Robert Hope died in 2001.

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 - The World Bank hosted a panel discussion and signing of a memorandum of understanding between Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women, the Government of Denmark, and the United States State Department announcing a new public-private partnership to facilitate access to capital through loan guarantees for women in developing countries who have completed business skills training with 10,000 Women or select Department of State programs.

10,000 Women is a 0 million, five-year campaign to foster economic growth by providing 10,000 underserved women around the world with a business and management education. The initiative is coordinated in 22 countries through a network of more than 80 academic and nonprofit partners. Photo: © World Bank
